It-it’s not ike I forgot about this blog, it’s more like I’ve been busy with exams and graphic novel course. I decided to take ENGC57 the past term to perfect my writing skills. What is following will be the first few pages in the next week of Daybreak. I can only say it is influenced by the concept of the Modern Epic.
I’ve always had an idea floating around of a few short stories I wanted to illustrate. I also wanted to portray the feelings of loss. The loss of a loved one, without them having said anything as they left everyone and everything they cared about behind. I wanted to portray both the bereaved and the one who is leaving the living behind.
To be honest, I’ve left my tablet under a shitload of stuff I was planning on doing, giving away, selling, throwing out, maybe recycling… etc ahah..
The first draft 12 pages have been since illustrated, and submitted to my professor, but I plan to up the ante on their quality via photoshop and colouring them in fully, as well as modifying order and adding additional pages.
So that people don’t get too lost the sypnosis is this: A young man going by the alias Kao(meaning face in Japanese, but he’s just a weeaboo Ginger third year kid lulz), has a girlfriend named Maaya (or Maya, I believe it is sanskrit for illusion). But his girlfriend has gone missing. He is searching for her.
If I take forever to update, well blame the Final Fantasy 13 limited edition PS3 coming with Japanese edition Final Fantasy 13. I am struggling to get through kanji, though battle system katakana is just as hard..
I sit there trying to read my inventory with words like ‘po-shi-on’ and ‘su-mo-ku’, I get pretty confused, till I read them out loud! My friends that are fluent in Chinese rofl at my Canadian Chinese heritage, since I can barely read Chinese, let alone Kanji. I read pheonix down as ‘Fe-ni-ku-su-MUT?”… I say ‘MUT’ whenever I come accross an unfamiliar Kanji, literally out loud. It is essentially the Cantonese equivalent of “WHAT?”…. I regret not taking Chinese in highschool, but I took Japanese instead, and I struggled with Kanji. I essentially went to Chinese school in Canada from when I was three years old up till I was fourteen. I stopped only because of a boy I liked rejecting me in the class. Yes, I was an idiot. But that is ok, I learned Japanese instead. I am essentially fluent in Cantonese with little to no English accent to the point of getting mistaken for being from Hong Kong, despite being never off the North American continent in my life. (I am sadly in University now, and old. God I am so old. I remember when I turned 18 I wrote on Dan Kim’s blog/manga http://manga.clone-army.org/, HAH I’m LEGAL NOW.. We COULD HAVE BEEN SOMETHING DAAAAAN.. since he has a thing for loli’s ? well not too sure about that now, but looking back it was pretty lulzy)
I’m actually writing two essays .. well should be writing two essays so I don’t fail a course. I am not looking forward to my psychology of prejudice exam tomorrow.Somehow I’ve found myself addicted to this song in the meantime, while I toil away at typing quotes in APA format.

note to self: get shit done or taokaka punch someone to do it for me >_>

oooohh…*quivers at APA* I can’t wait to read your epic graphic novel
I believe the term has since changed to ‘webcomic’ upon the onset of placing it here, soon enough.
